  • Director of Communications & Marketing

TNB is seeking a Director of Communications & Marketing to join our team. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, dynamic, organized, and enthusiastic about the power of theatre to engage and strengthen communities. 

Theatre New Brunswick is one of Canada’s oldest and longest running regional theatre companies. Our mission is to create extraordinary theatre that inspires and entertains our audience while celebrating New Brunswick’s best theatre content and artists; and to provide outstanding theatre training and performance that educates and awakens the imaginations of our youth and emerging artists. We do this through our main stage productions, our Young Company tour and our Theatre School. 

The Director of Communications & Marketing is a key member of a collaborative team in a busy charitable organization. It’s a public facing role, and duties vary from day to day. This position is full-time, sometimes requiring working evenings or weekends. Salary starts at $40,000 and we offer a competitive benefits package. The position requires you to live in the Fredericton region to work in-person the majority of the time. 

This Director reports to and works with the Artistic & Executive Director and General Manager on the following objectives:

  • Diversify and grow Theatre New Brunswick audiences through outreach activities. 
  • Oversee the branding of the company, through social media and website maintenance, content creation, and all communication and marketing campaigns.  
  • Maintain patron relations and assist with box office management.
  • Share the responsibility of grant writing, fundraising, sponsorship and donor campaigns. 

The ideal candidate’s profile includes:

  • A creative ability to envision and execute new ways of communicating to and attracting new audiences;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities with a creative flair;
  • A high level of comfort with technology, including programs like MS Office, MailChimp and experience in graphics software would be an asset;
  • Demonstrated confidence and maturity to work cooperatively in a leadership role;
  • High professional standards with acute attention to details.
