2025-2026 SEASON

The Greatest Play in the History of the World

What is it that you would want to be preserved for eternity?

A man wakes in the middle of the night to discover that the world has stopped.

Through the crack in his bedroom curtains he can see no signs of life at all…other than a light in the house opposite where a woman in an oversized Bowie T-shirt stands, looking back at him.

The Greatest Play in the History of the World is a beautifully constructed love story, set on Preston Road and also in space and in time. Presented as a monologue for one actor, it asks profound questions with deepest sincerity whilst simultaneously balancing the human quest for meaningful connections.

Heroine

At the height of piracy’s Golden Age, two of history’s most famed female pirates sit awaiting execution for their crimes.

Disguised as men, swashbucklers Anne Bonny and privateer-turned-pirate Mary Read looted, plundered and outfought many of their male counterparts throughout the Caribbean before being captured and sentenced to hang. Clashing sword fights, brutal wrestling matches and sharp-as-a-blade humour bring these historical figures to the stage to explore what a life well lived truly is.

A Canyon Contained

The morning after an eventful high-school party, two distant sisters find themselves trapped together on the drive back home. On one side, Jessica is glad to leave her reality behind for the sake of a new cause and a chance to build a bridge. On the other side, Regan struggles to make sense of her night and uncover the agenda behind her sister’s new interest in connecting. As confessions, callouts and questions around consent come into play, the ride turns rocky and the political and personal intertwine. A Canyon Contained, directed by Naomi McGowan is a story of two young women learning how to trust one another and be vulnerable enough to extend and receive offers of care.
