Young Company General Auditions

Fredericton, New Brunswick

Theatre New Brunswick will be holding general auditions for the TNB Young Company in Fredericton, NB on September 23 & 24 at the Open Space Theatre

To arrange an audition, please submit a letter of interest, headshot and resume to Joanna Bryson at submissions@tnb.nb.ca. TNB is seeking Non-Equity artists based in New Brunswick for the Young Company TYA tour. 

Theatre New Brunswick believes in diversity & inclusion and strongly encourages submissions from artists of equity-seeking communities; these may include gender, age, race, sexuality, disability, neuro-diverse, and the intersections thereof.  

Only those chosen for an audition will be contacted. Those who are selected will be given sides to prepare and will be asked to sing acapella.  Applicants should note that if cast they will be responsible for performing in Dinostories, and facilitating the workshops with Story Lab.

Dinostories! 3 Prehistoric Fairy Tales

Written by Dan Bray and Noella Murphy, with music by Bingley & the Rogues

Directed by Alexander Rioux

Did you know that dinosaurs ate porridge? Or lived at the top of beanstalks?? Or liked wearing grandma’s pajamas??? It’s all true! Join us for Dinostories: 3 Prehistoric Fairy Tales and hear the most exciting secrets and stories of the prehistoric era!

Dinostories is a play with music that mixes three traditional fairy tales with dinosaurs!

Nominated for Children’s Entertainer of the Year by the East Coast Music Awards, and co-written by award-winning playwright Dan Bray and Noella Murphy, Dinostories will have you tapping your feet and humming along to this musical, comic, prehistoric extravaganza!

STORY LAB

In a new initiative,Theatre New Brunswick’s Young Company will be traveling across New Brunswick to offer drama club support and specialized theatre workshops for schools across New Brunswick. 

Our company of professional theatre artists and instructors will make themselves available to schools as they prepare for a production, develop an original piece, or simply want assistance building confidence, creativity, and connectivity. No matter the goal, Theatre New Brunswick can work with you to create an experience that fits your classroom. 

Workshops can focus on areas such as: 

  • Acting and character development

  • Ensemble building and collaboration

  • Improvisation

  • Voice

  • Physical theatre

  • Devising and creating original material
