Fall & Winter Youth Programs

TNB Theatre School Winter Registration

Registration for winter term programs of Primary Play, Discovery Theatre, Playtime Theatre and Junior Musical Theatre will take place 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.,  December 15, 2012 at the TNB Studio (55Whiting Road) after which registrations can be made through TNB’s Programs Coordinator at theatreschool@tnb.nb.ca or by phone 460-1381 x 106.

A limited number of Theatre New Brunswick Foundation bursaries are available for eligible students. To apply for our bursary program, please call the Theatre School Director at 460-1381, ext:107.

**NEW** Primary  Play (For ages 18 months – 3 years and their parent or caregiver)  Mondays 9 a.m. | Jan.28 – April 15

Together with their parents through music, songs, rhymes, story and action children will develop motor and vocal skills in a fun and social environment.  $150 / term


**NEW**  Discovery Theatre (For ages 3-4 years) Mondays 10:15 a.m. | Jan.28 – April 15

We’ll explore imaginative self-expression through story-telling, movement and music.  Discovery Theatre introduces the idea of role-playing and encourages emotional communication. $150 / term


Playtime Theatre (Preschool – Grade 2) – Saturdays 9AM-10AM | Feb. 2 -  May 11

Students discover acting, singing and dance and are introduced to the basics of theatre through a series of games and exercises.  $175 / term


Junior Musical Theatre 1 (Grades 3-5) - Saturdays, 10AM-1PM | Feb. 2 – May 18

Students receive introductory training in music, voice, dance and acting.  The course culminates in a 30-minute musical theatre performance.   Please note: JMT1 and JMT2 will jointly present a final production at the end of their programs.   $300 / term


Junior Musical Theatre 2 (Grades 3-5) - Wednesdays, 1PM-4PM | Feb. 6 – May 18

Students receive introductory training in music, voice, dance and acting.  The course culminates in a 30-minute musical theatre performance.  Please note: JMT1 and JMT2 will jointly present a final production at the end of their programs.   $300 / term



Full Year Courses

Intermediate Musical Theatre (Grades 6-8) – Thursdays, 5:30PM – 8:30PM (Sept. 27 – Dec. 6; Jan. 31 – June 1)

The next step in ‘triple-threat’ training.  Students study intermediate voice, dance and acting, and present an hour-long, fully-produced spring production mentored by professionals.  An audition is required for this program. $600


Intermediate & Senior Acting (Grades 6-12) – Wednesdays, 5:30PM – 8:30PM (Sept. 26 – Dec. 5; Jan. 30 – May 25)

This course focuses on acting training and performance.  Students study movement, acting theory, voice, and improvisation.  The course culminates in a full-length, fully-produced spring production mentored by professionals. An audition is required for this program. $600


Senior Musical Theatre (Grade 9 – Age 19) Mondays, 5:00PM – 8:30PM (Sept. 24 – Dec. 3; Jan. 14 – May 4)

Our senior students study singing, dance and acting, A high degree of skill and discipline is required.  This highly-focused course culminates in a full-length, fully-produced spring production at the Fredericton Playhouse, mentored by professionals.  Audition required. $600
