REGISTRATION OPEN: TNB Theatre School Adult Ensemble Module IV: Movement

THIS JUST IN:Nicola Pantin, Stratford Festival Choreographer and two-time Dora Mavor Moore award-winner, will be a guest instructor for the final class of this module.

The actor’s body is his or her greatest tool; it can help or hinder.  This module focuses on moving with integrity and facility, developing sensory awareness and refining movement skills. This course will also provide an introduction to the physical training methods of Suzuki, Laban, and other physically-based approaches, increasing students‟ understanding of psychological motivation, concentration, focus of attention, clarity of physical expressiveness.

LISA ANNE ROSS is a performer, creator, educator and community arts practitioner who has recently relocated to Fredericton.  Lisa began her studies at Dalhousie University, in the Acting Program and went on to study physical theatre forms at the Dell’arte School of Physical Theatre in Blue Lake, California.  Most recently she completed her Master’s at York University, where she examined theatre as a tool for social change.  In 2004 Lisa began Solo Chicken Productions, whose mandate is to create new works of physical theatre and to engage in community arts.

TNB Artistic Producer  CALEB MARSHALL has trained and taught extensively in Canada and Europe.  He holds a BFA Honours Acting from York University and an MFA with Distinction in Theatre Directing from London’s Middlesex University.  As well he trained with Soulpepper Shakespeare Intensive, Stratford Festival Conservatory, GITIS Academy (Moscow) and Shakespeare’s Globe.  As an instructor he has worked at Stratford Festival’s Shakespeare School and Teaching Shakespeare school, Shakespeares’ Globe Theatre, Poland’s Festiwal Shakesperowski and Germany’s Globe Neuss.  He is a former Professor of Drama at Saint Thomas University and has been a guest lecturer at Middlesex University, Dalhousie University, University of New Brunswick.

Students returning from previous modules are not required to audition but new students should arrange an audition by contacting the Theatre School by phone 460-1381 ext 106 or email theatreschool@tnb.nb.ca.

Playtime Theatre (Preschool – Grade 2) – Saturdays 9AM-10AM | February 4 – May 12

Students discover acting, singing and dance and are introduced to the basics of theatre through a series of games and exercises.  $175


Junior Musical Theatre 1 (Grades 3-5) - Saturdays, 10AM-1PM | February 4 – May 12

Students receive introductory training in music, voice, dance and acting.  The course culminates in a 30-minute musical theatre performance with professional production values.   Please note: JMT1 and JMT2 will jointly present a final production at the end of their programs.   $300

Theatre New Brunswick offers a spectrum of programming for all ages, experience levels and aspirations.  All of our rehearsals take place in our newly-renovated studio theatre at 55 Whiting Road.
