Theatre New Brunswick 2010-2011 Season: Call for Submissions
Theatre New Brunswick will be holding auditions for its 2010-2011 Main Stage productions of Feelgood, Treasure Island and Hockey Dreams; and Young Company auditions for The Book of Miracles and R&J (Romeo & Juliet Abridged)
TNB is dedicated to celebrating New Brunswick’s best theatre artists. New Brunswick actors are encouraged to apply and make themselves known.
Feelgood rehearses Sept 13-29 with a performance run Sept 30, Oct 1-3
Treasure Island rehearses Nov 13-Dec 1 with a performance run Dec 2-5.
Hockey Dreams rehearses Feb 24-Mar 16 with a performance run and tour March 17-26.
The Young Company rehearses Jan 3-22 with a performance tour Jan 24-Apr 8.
Please note there is a one week unpaid hiatus during March break.

Feelgood by Alistair Beaton
EDDIE: 30s, British accent, cynical speechwriter for PM (muscular, doubles as boxer)
LIZ: 30s, British accent, investigative journalist
PAUL: 30s, British accent, Eddie’s assistant (muscular, doubles as boxer)
ASHA: Late 20s/early 30s, British East-Indian, all business, aid to PM
GEORGE: 50s/60s, dim-witted British Lord, accent
SIMON: 30s, black, television sitcom writer, accent (muscular, doubles as boxer)
DL: 50s British Prime Minister, accent
The Truth Is A Hard Flat Surface by Bruce Allen Lynch
(A short play that serves as the Opening Act for, and is double cast with, Feelgood.)
YVON DURELLE: 30, tall, approximately 175 pounds, muscular boxer driven to win
TERESA DURELLE: his wife, late 20s, slim, stylish and chic
CHRIS SHABAN: his manager, 50s, short, brash and ambitious
ARCHIE MOORE: his nemesis, late 30s, black, tall, approximately 175 pounds, muscular boxer

JIM HAWKINS: 16, reads younger, a boy who longs for adventure and finds a treasure map
LONG JOHN SILVER 40s/50s, one-legged mutineer, charming, intelligent, ruthless, and manipulative
DR. LIVESEY: 40s/50s friend and patron to the Hawkins, former solider
PEW: 30s/40s blind but dangerous, ex-pirate now beggar, and killer/DICK: 30s/40s a mutineer who carries a bible
BONES: Old, drunken seaman/SQUIRE: 50s/60s local landlord, naïve, and with a habit of talking too much
MRS. HAWKINS: 30s/40s Jim’s mother/BEN GUNN: A half-insane marooned ex-pirate
BLACK DOG: 40s/50s one of Pew’s companions/SMOLLETT: 40s/50s, stubborn but loyal Captain

(With regard to the child roles, looking for 12-16 year olds that read young and play hockey)
DAVID: Late 40s/50s, narrator, left hand and leg are slightly lame
STAFFORD FOLEY: 11, delicate, diabetic, small for his age
MICHAEL: 10-12, poor, tough, and lively
TOBIAS: 9, light skinned black, poor
GINETTE: 12, dark brown hair, fiery, and kind
GARTH: 10-11, sly, chubby momma’s boy
LORRIE: 11, bully, big for his age
DARREN: 11, cocky and sure of himself
