TNB’s upcoming Main Stage season begins this fall with Feelgood by Alistair Beaton. Set in a plush, seaside hotel during a political conference, press secretary Eddie and speech-writing aid Paul try to finalize the Prime Minister’s speech. But Eddie’s skills are to be tested far more by an improbable scandal, and none of this is helped by the arrival of his ex-wife, an investigative journalist!
Running September 30-October 3 at The Fredericton Playhouse, this outrageously funny satire on modern politics couldn’t come at a better time. With a provincial election slated to happen at the same time in New Brunswick, Marshall says, “It will be our cure to the election blues, having to put a positive spin on a ridiculous situation.” This presentation makes for an exciting beginning to a promising season.
Feelgood's Opening Act The Truth is a Hard Flat Surface by Bruce Allen Lynch is the first of two winning plays to come from this year’s TNB New Voices call for true New Brunswick stories. This hard-hitting, fist-flying drama recreates Yvon Durelle’s 1958 bid for the Light Heavyweight Boxing Championship, and how he got there from Baie-Sainte-Anne, New Brunswick.
Feelgood runs Thursday, September 30 – Saturday, October 2 at 8PM, and Sunday, October 3 at 2PM at the Fredericton Playhouse.
