The Gifts of the Magi runs December 1-4, 2011 at The Fredericton Playhouse.
It is Christmas in the city, but for two young lovers, Jim and Della, the prospects are bleak, as both are out of work and penniless. Will parting with their most precious possession solve the dilemma of buying the other a gift? The Gifts of the Magi, is a holiday love story created from the stories of O. Henry with book & lyrics by Mark St. Germain, and music & lyrics by Randy Courts.
Finding warmth and giving in the cold impersonal city has a tremendous resonance with a modern audience, and TNB felt it was a great place from which to build a beloved but rarely dramatized story.
